Grégory laloyer, stade béthunois fc legend and kipsta ambassador

Centre-back and captain of the first team since 2008, director of the football school, U11s coach and club employee (!), Grégory Laloyer is the Swiss army knife of Stade Béthunois Football Club. He is also a Kipsta ambassador.

A bit about his club

For the last three years, Grégory has also been a full-time employee for Stade Béthunois. "I've taken over as director of the football school, catering for U6s to U13s, and I'm the coach for the U11s." But he also wears an administrative hat, liaising with the District, the Ligue des Hauts-de-France, the members and the local authorities. "And on top of all that, I work with the local school's sports department through a partnership with the club." At the same time, and for the second season running, the 30-year-old player is an ambassador for Kipsta, the Stade Béthunois sponsor. "They got in touch about testing a new pair of shoes - the CLR 900 - which I fell in love with instantly. They were exactly what I was looking for. Very light, very thin boots that are quite like a Nike boot, which is what I used to wear." His role has led to him making an advert, having a photo shoot, and taking part in numerous product tests at the Kipstadium - the brand's innovation laboratory in Tourcoing. And spreading the word about his club.

Twenty-two years. More than two decades since he first donned the Stade Béthunois shirt. Twenty-two years since this Beuvry native, from the very northern tip of France, first joined the club that he has shown such loyalty to ever since. "When I first started playing football, I spent a couple of years, aged 6 to 8, with Racing Club Labourse, but I soon found myself wearing sky-blue and navy," says Grégory. "Every football session I've done since then has been with them. I've never wanted to go anywhere else. I feel at home here." As centre-back for the first team (which plays in the Régional 1 league) and captain since 2008, he has become an icon of Béthune over the years. "I've had several opportunities to go elsewhere and play at a higher level, in National 3 or even in Belgium, but I've never managed to take the leap. I'm too at home right here in this friendly, close-knit club that suits me to a tee."
